On 5 November 2022, ten friars of the General Curia offered Holy Mass in suffrage for the deceased brothers of the Order, especially those buried in the Augustinian mausoleum of Campo Verano, the main cemetery of Rome.
After the Eucharist presided by the Prior General, Fr. Alejandro Moral Antón, the members of the Curia had the opportunity to see the restoration work undertaken in the Augustinian mausoleum. A project directed by the Bursar General, Father Franz Klein, and which had the technical supervision of Sig. Stefano Palmerini, who also participated in the memorial Mass.
Built in 1880 by the Roman Province, but now maintained and preserved by the General Curia, the mausoleum is a resting place and a living memory of the friars buried there, whose names, inscribed on the marble panels on either side of the altar, evoke the memory of so many religious who served the Church and the Order.
All the Saints of the Order
Just a week later, in the General Curia of our brothers, the Augustinian Recollects, a celebration took place on the occasion of the feast of All Saints of the Order.
Representatives of the Order of St. Augustine, the Augustinian Assumptionists, the Augustinian Missionary Nuns and the Augustinian Sisters of Conversion attended the gathering, which was carefully attended by the Recollects and the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Cardinal Sancha. There was an opportunity to celebrate sung vespers and share an aperitif on a day marked by fraternity among the different members of the Augustinian family.
